Focus on Hampstead people
What is your background?
After graduating from the University of Exeter in 2008, I lived and worked in Spain with the Europass mobility scheme before travelling around Asia, Australasia and South America for 6 months. I moved to London in September 2009 and I am really enjoying getting to know this amazing city.
How long have you worked at the Hampstead School of English?
Since October 2009...this makes me newer than some of our students!
Do you speak any languages apart from English?
I speak a little Spanish, and I have learnt lots of random phrases from many nationalities whilst I was travelling. I love learning languages, I just wish I knew more!
What is your typical day at the Hampstead School of English?
You'll find me on the front desk helping out with general enquiries from students and the public. I also liaise with agents all over the world to ensure their students have all the document they need before travelling to us, as well as checking the students they represent are happy here at the school.
What are the favourite aspects of your work?
Meeting so many lovely people from all over the world is definitely the highlight of my day. As I have studied and lived abroad myself, I know how confusing the experience can be and I am always happy to help.
What makes London and the Hampstead School of English such a positive experience for your students?
The school is such a friendly place and all the staff are very approachable. The students make incredible progress here and seem to really enjoy their classes, which makes the atmosphere in the school very positive. The location of the school is perfect for exploring London, and there is never a shortage of awesome things to do and see!
