Course Description
The Teacher Immersion 20 course is ideal for English teachers looking to brush up their English and/or refresh their knowldege of teaching techniques. The course is designed for non-native English teachers working in a country where English is not the first language. Student teachers who are training to become English teachers in their own country will also find this course very useful. The course combines General English with five intensive one-to-one sessions a week. Students receive the benefit of participating in group classes, which is often useful to refresh knowledge of certain areas of the English language. Former students of this course have also reported that it is refreshing to be a student again! The private classes are tailored to the needs of the individual student. Our teachers for the one-to-one classes have proven experience in teacher training and provide guidance in all areas of teaching methodology and practice.
The one-to-one classes include a complete needs analysis and a programme of work, agreed on by the teacher and the student, so that study aims can be achieved within a realistic timeframe. Some examples of Teacher Immersion 20 areas are:
- Error correction
- Methodologies, eg. the communicative approach, the lexical approach
- Techniques, eg. guided discovery, kinesthetic learning
- Preparation for the TKT Cambridge exam
